Argentina

Here is Nate's first email from Argentina -

Hey!!! holy cow this has been the weirdest, craziest, hardest weeks of my life!! hahaha who knew going to a different country would actually be this crazy.. but ya the first day we got here, we got off the plain and i heard two people talking and i didnt understand a single word they said. startin off good. we then had to catch a different plane to cordoba and so we just kind of walked around until this lady claimed us at the airport. she then led us to a bus and we got on, because we had absolutely no idea what we were doing.. haha for all we know she could have been kidnapping us all and we would have never known. but we eventually ended up at the other airport and took another plane to cordoba! holy cow i never realized how nice we have in in america... hahah the houses are tiny!! most of them are about twice the size of my room and they fit like six people in them!! it is so crazy... there are also dogs everwhere.. some are strays but some have collars on them. those are the ones we are not allowed to kick. apparently they are not very friendly sometimes...

but ya anyway i met my companion, elder dominguez, and guess who doesnt speak english!!! ya. and guess whos two other roommates dont speak english either!! so ya i have pretty much been going solo for a week. it is super hard and super frusterating at times but it is apparently the "best thing for me" so i am making the best of it. i think my companion gets really impatient with me cause sometimes i ask him something and he just doesnt answer..... maybe he doesnt understand or maybe he just doesnt want to try and start another ten minute conversation on how to say something.. but other than that he is awesome and he is really good with the people here!!

the people here are awesome!! hahah except we will be in a lesson or talking with a member and i will have absolutely no idea what anyone is saying and then all of a sudden someone asks me a question that i dont understand, i sit there and look stupid, and then my comp takes over and i get to listen to them talk about how i am a "greengo" hahaha but i am getting really good at the phrase, this is my first week and i dont understand much spanish!! its a really good time..

haha sorry i dont have a ton of time to write more but next week i will tell you how it went!!!
