Mother's Day 2012

I had the best Mother's Day! We invited Steve's mom & sister Lori over for dinner. It was a beautiful day and Steve grilled us up some juicy steaks. After dinner Steve's other sister Kristen stopped by with her family.

We decided to have an impromptu potato derby. What is a potato derby? Well, you take a potato, carve it like a car, stab in some pine wood derby wheels, and race them down the track. (We did it for a combined YM/YW activity the Wed. before and had great success.)

So, we grabbed the track from the garage, a sack of potatoes from the kitchen, and had ourselves a race.

Eric won the YM/YW derby and brought home this lovely trophy. He dug it out of the trash can graciously gave it to us to use as a prize for the races.

Our cute niece Kelly won it all!!! Kris said she didn't want to put it in the trunk for the drive home. She wanted to sit it next to her in the car. But, it was too big! So sweet!!
